Terms of Service

1. Service Operator and Definitions

ScriptDoctor ("Service") is operated by ScriptDoctor, residing in EU, Poland ("Operator", "we", "us", "our"). The Operator is in the process of registering a formal business entity.

  • "User" means any individual accessing or using the Service.
  • "Content" means any screenplay, script, or other material you upload to the Service.
  • "Analysis" means the AI-generated evaluation of your Content.
  • "Report" means the document containing the Analysis delivered to you upon completion.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. Users must be at least 18 years of age to use this Service.

3. Description of Service

ScriptDoctor provides AI-powered screenplay analysis. The Service is currently in beta.

  • Free Tier: Basic score, overall verdict, and top 3 critical issues. Available to all users at no cost.
  • Full Report ($15 USD): Complete structural analysis, character breakdown, pacing evaluation, and dialogue notes.
  • Master Tier (add-on): Available as an upgrade after purchasing a Full Report. Includes personalized writing exercises, case studies, and scene workshop recommendations.

4. User Responsibilities

By using the Service, you agree to:

  • Upload only content you own or have the legal right to use
  • Not infringe on any third-party intellectual property rights
  • Not attempt to reverse-engineer or exploit our AI systems
  • Not use the Service for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
  • Provide accurate payment information when making purchases
  • Not upload illegal, hateful, or otherwise prohibited content
  • Not use bots, scrapers, or automated tools to access the Service
  • Not resell or redistribute the Service or Reports

5. Intellectual Property

Your Content: You retain full ownership of your screenplay content. By uploading, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to process your Content solely for the purpose of providing the Analysis. This license terminates upon completion of the Analysis. We do not use your Content to train AI models.

Our Content: The Reports, analysis methodology, formatting, and presentation are our intellectual property. You receive a non-exclusive license to use the Report for personal and professional purposes. You may not resell Reports.

Trademarks: "ScriptDoctor" and associated logos are our trademarks and may not be used without prior written consent.

6. Payment Terms

  • All prices are in USD. VAT or local taxes may be added for EU customers as required by law.
  • Payment is processed securely through Stripe, Inc.
  • Each purchase is for a single screenplay analysis.
  • Reports are delivered immediately upon successful payment.
  • If payment fails, no Report will be delivered. Please retry with valid payment information.

7. Refund Policy and EU Consumer Rights

By completing a purchase, you expressly consent to immediate digital delivery of the Report and acknowledge that you waive your right of withdrawal under EU Directive 2011/83/EU, Article 16(m) (digital content not supplied on a tangible medium).

Refunds will be issued if:

  • A technical error on our part prevented you from accessing the Report within 48 hours of purchase;
  • A system error on our part prevented the Report from being generated; or
  • The Report was materially incomplete due to a Service malfunction.

To request a refund, contact support@scriptdoctor.pro within 14 days of purchase, including your transaction ID.

8. Data Handling and Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which forms an integral part of these Terms.

9. Third-Party Services

The Service relies on the following third parties:

  • Anthropic (Claude AI) — for screenplay analysis
  • Stripe, Inc. — for payment processing
  • Vercel, Inc. — for hosting and delivery

We are not responsible for the acts or omissions of any third-party service providers.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT:

  • Use of the Service will lead to screenplay sales, production deals, or other professional outcomes
  • AI feedback is error-free, complete, or suitable for your specific needs
  • Access to the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, or secure
  • The Service will meet your specific requirements

Our analysis is AI-generated feedback meant to supplement, not replace, professional script consultation.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, SCRIPTDOCTOR SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

Our total aggregate liability to you shall not exceed the greater of: (a) the amounts paid by you to us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) $50 USD.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless ScriptDoctor and its officers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from: your use of the Service, your breach of these Terms, your violation of any applicable law, or your Content.

13. Force Majeure

We will not be liable for any failure or delay in performing our obligations where such failure or delay results from events beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, government actions, third-party service failures, or cyberattacks.

14. Service Modifications

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time. For material changes affecting paid features, we will provide at least 30 days' advance notice.

15. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the Service immediately and without prior notice for conduct that: violates these Terms, is harmful to other users or third parties, constitutes fraud, or involves illegal activity.

Upon termination, provisions relating to intellectual property, disclaimer of warranties, limitation of liability, indemnification, and governing law shall survive.

16. Changes to Terms of Service

For material changes to these Terms, we will notify affected users by email at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of the Service after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

17. Dispute Resolution

Informal resolution first: Before initiating any formal proceedings, please contact us at support@scriptdoctor.pro. We will attempt to resolve the dispute informally within 30 days.

Governing Law: These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the Republic of Poland.

Jurisdiction: Any disputes not resolved informally shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Warsaw, Poland.

EU Consumer Exception: If you are an EU consumer, you retain all rights granted to you under the mandatory laws of your country of residence. You may also use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.

18. General Provisions

  • Severability: If any provision of these Terms is found invalid, the remaining provisions continue in full force.
  • Entire Agreement: These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and us.
  • Waiver: Our failure to enforce any right or provision does not constitute a waiver of that right.
  • Assignment: You may not assign your rights under these Terms without our prior written consent.
  • Electronic Communications: You agree to receive legally required notices electronically.
